Fluoroelastomers are synthetic polymers, which have special chemical and thermal resistances. Generally they are classified into two big families: inorganic fluoroelastomers and fluorocarbon elastomers. The main goal of this presentation is to observe this last polymer family (FKM or FPM), which has a primary structure characterized by the bonding: carbon-carbon. This bonds can be directly connected with: fluorine, hydrogen or fluorinated groups. Because of their high cost they are used only for technical applications and in chemically and thermally unfriendly environments. The aim of this presentation is focused on technical characteristic of compound produced with fluoropolymers, which are known on the whole world with trade names as VITONŽ , manufactured by the well known multi-national DU-PONT, but available on the market also with brands: DAI-ELŽ, TECNOFLONŽ and DYNEONŽ, produced by: DAIKIN, SOLVAY-SOLEXIS and 3M.
