HEXGREEN®- More sustainable Rubber compounds from HEXPOL
HEXPOL’s Commitment to Sustainable Rubber Compounds
HEXPOL’s mission is to be the preferred solution provider for sustainable rubber compounds. As one of the first compounders, HEXPOL provides Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data for its compounds produced in Europe, using an in-house TÜV certified calculator. The tool shows that more than 85% of emissions come from raw materials rather than transport or mixing. The solution is clear: replacing fossil-based inputs with bio-based, circular or bio-circular alternatives reduces the footprint significantly.
This is the idea behind HEXGREEN®, a range of tailor-made rubber compounds with at least 10% of alternative raw materials, adjustable to higher shares. Together with customers, HEXPOL selects the right alternatives to ensure strict performance requirements are met. Circular and recycled feedstocks are particularly valuable, as they prevent landfill and provide stable quality.
Concrete examples are devulcanized rubber, obtained from post-industrial scraps as well as End of Life Tire (ETR) pyrolysis products.
HEXPOL experts can adapt existing recipes or develop new HEXGREEN® compounds from scratch, offering the renowned quality with a lower carbon footprint.
